Dachau, July 2014

On my way to my vacation in Austria, I made a stop in Munich (Germany) to visit the concentration camp of Dachau.

Dachau was the first concentration camp of the nazi regime, it was established only months after Hitler became chancellor, in 1933, mainly for political prisoners. During the 12 years it was active, 200.000 people were imprisoned there, 41.500 were murdered…

In case you think the first picture was taken the ‘wrong’ way: this is the way the prisoners saw it from inside the camp… The text was readable only for the outside world…
