In recent years, a completely new residential area has been set up in the south of Antwerp, with the appropriate name: New South. It is a prestige project, with a major emphasis on sustainability. When it is completely finished, it should have built around 2000 new homes, plus schools, nurseries, shops, offices and a large park.

One of the squares on New South is the Panamarenko Square, with a fantastic flying object made by Panamarenko in one of the corners.
